Loved the place very cosy! Food was good too. It is a bit dark for taking pictures but I still liked the atmosphere there.

I have nothing but glowing reviews for the Golden Age Cinema and Bar, as a filmmaker. They helped me with a press screening for my short film and gave me a very reasonable rate, extensive technical support and were so incredibly happy to support independent, local filmmakers. I went back to them later on for help with converting a video file into an industry standard DCP (Digital Cinema Package - international convention for digital file types for playback in cinemas) when I desperately needed one to send to an overseas festival at short notice and they gave me same day service. You just can't fake genuine enthusiasm for promoting the arts. Gorgeous cinema and space, too. A gem.

I wanted to love this place - the idea of a boutique cinema that shows classics is very appealing to me. Unfortunately, while the film schedule is great and the aesthetics of the bar are great, this place is lacking in the only area that matters - viewing experience.

I found myself wishing for Event Cinemas during the whole experience. Eventually the people behind us became too much and we left to finish the movie in the comfort of our apartment, which was 10 times more enjoyable.

The seats and small and uncomfortable. During the screening, a moth was flying around in front of the (small) screen and staff did nothing about it. Patrons behind me were drunk and loudly talking during the movie - despite assurances on the website that the crowds here respect cinema.

Small cute retro cinema and bar. Be sure to try their old fashioned cocktail and chilli popcorn. Friendly service and nice ambience.

Lovely location. Interesting cocktails and the cafe downstairs is particularly nice. Check the website for upcoming events - many interesting and niche productions - attracts a diverse and often eclectic or artsy type crowd. One of the more interesting inner city locations of it's genre.

Sadly just another case of Sydney aping what other cities are able to provide, but falling short in all the important areas.
